Children's Privacy Notice (COPPA)

His Little Disciples is committed to protecting the privacy of children. This app is directed at children under 13 years of age, and we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not collect personal information directly from children. All accounts are created and managed by parents or legal guardians.

1. Who We Are

His Little Disciples ("we," "us," or "our") is a faith-based educational web application that provides interactive Bible lessons for children. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our website and services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information from Parents/Guardians

When a parent or guardian creates an account, we collect:

  • Account Information: Name and email address (collected through Manus OAuth authentication)
  • Payment Information: Processed entirely by Stripe, Inc. We store only a Stripe Customer ID and Subscription ID — we never see, store, or have access to credit card numbers, CVVs, or billing details
  • Marketing Preferences: Whether you opt in to receive faith-based family resources and offers
  • Language Preference: Your preferred language (English or Spanish), stored locally in your browser

2.2 Information About Children

Parents create and manage all child profiles. We do not collect information directly from children. When a parent adds a child profile, the following is stored:

  • Child's First Name: Used only to personalize the learning experience (e.g., "Sarah's Lessons")
  • Age: Optional, used only to tailor content difficulty
  • Avatar Emoji: A decorative emoji chosen by the parent
  • Learning Progress: Lesson completion status, quiz scores, streak counts, and badges earned

We do not collect from children: last names, physical addresses, phone numbers, photos, videos, audio recordings, geolocation data, or any persistent identifiers that could track a child across websites.

2.3 Prayer Wall Submissions

Parents may submit prayer requests on behalf of their children to the Community Prayer Wall. These submissions include a child's first name and prayer text. All submissions are reviewed and approved by an administrator before being displayed publicly. No other personal information is shared.

2.4 Prayer Journal Entries

Children (through their parent's account) may write private prayer journal entries. These entries are visible only to the parent's account and are never shared publicly or with third parties.

2.5 Cookies and Local Storage

We use the following technologies:

  • Session Cookie: A signed JWT cookie used to maintain your login session. This is essential for the app to function and cannot be disabled.
  • Language Preference: Stored in your browser's localStorage to remember your language choice (English or Spanish). This is not transmitted to our servers.

We do not use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking cookies, or any third-party cookies for marketing purposes. We do not engage in behavioral advertising directed at children.
